Legends of Navajo Country
Description: OUR STORY BEGINS IN 1863, during the time of legendary Indian fighter Colonel Kit Carson, who is carrying out a military campaign against the Navajo Indians. His orders are to gather all the Navajo and relocate them to a reservation 300 miles to the south at Fort Sumner, New Mexico. This historic event is known as the Long Walk.

During the Long Walk, cavalry soldiers Ernest Mitchell and James Merrick notice the silver jewelry the Indians are wearing. They bribe one of the Indians into giving them a map to a secret silver mine hidden deep in Monument Valley.

In this action-packed documentary/drama we follow the daring expedition of Mitchell and Merrick on their fateful quest for silver. It's a fascinating true story that today is a legend of Navajo Country.
